contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:apiperbrix@aol.com\"><u>apiperbrix@aol.com<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In Other News<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Low Traffic Neighbourhoods<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Consultation on the\u00a0Railton\u00a0and\u00a0Oval\/Stockwell\u00a0LTNs has just closed.\u00a0 Another round of consultations, on the\u00a0Ferndale, Tulse Hill\u00a0and\u00a0 Streatham Hill\u00a0LTNs is expected to start shortly.\u00a0 Enquiries or comments to <u><a href=\"mailto:lowtrafficneighbourhoods@lambeth.gov.uk\">lowtrafficneighbourhoods@lambeth.gov.uk<\/a><\/u><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/brixtonforum.us13.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=41f4dd0a933ab7c1c2f1d9ed7&amp;id=ae012119e5&amp;e=d014828a82\" target=\"_blank\"><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/a> but you are welcome to share your views with us too.<strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A new look at Atlantic Road<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><br>100 years ago, the Police insisted that market stalls should be removed from Atlantic Road, to enable the buses to pass through.\u00a0 Roll forward to 2017, and new layouts were being thrashed out between Lambeth Council, the Forum and Brixton BID.\u00a0 Those got bogged down by Transport for London&#8217;s ambitions for reducing traffic over a wider area.\u00a0 Then Covid came along, with attendant emergency measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July last year, the Brixton BID floated its own proposals for extensive pedestrianisation within the Town Centre, under the &#8220;Brixton Playground&#8221; banner.\u00a0 However, their idyllic vision of street-side cafe tables and planters ignored the practical issues of delivering goods to the shops and cafes in the arcades and adjacent streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the recent &#8220;Space in Between&#8221; week of events organised by\u00a0Make It In Brixton, the BID re-opened the debate about how to adapt Atlantic Road to competing modern needs.\u00a0 This time, there seemed to be more realisation of the practicalities of deliveries, and the recent surge in Deliveroo-style pick-ups from restaurants.\u00a0 Expect more about this soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nature and Art on the Street<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Taking advantage of one of the &#8220;parklets&#8221;
